Monday, Mar. 22
Another fine day. Got started soon after midnight. Reached Captain's camp 10.30. Henson still in his igloo as usual. One of Captain's men still there. Gave him a good sledge & took his broken one.
Fixed up a snow shelter & had Marvin take a latitude sight. Result 85˚ 46' 38"*. This is an average of 11 1/2 ' of lat. made good for each march.
Light easterly air all day. Temp in vicinity of -40˚. At time noon observation -40˚. Rough heavy ice at beginning of march & tortuous route, later large level flows & straight course. 15 m. (')*

85˚ 48'
